Massage

What is massage and how does it work?

Massage is a hands on technique where the therapists uses certain movements to stimulate the muscles and skin by means of manipulation, these movements and stimulating movements vary in strength dependent on the type of massage you have chosen. It works by breaking up areas of tension held in the muscles and aids the bodies method of eliminating the chemical build up in these areas and promoting relaxation.

What are the different types of massage?

Massage comes in many varying forms and styles and these vary themselves from country to country across the world to name only a few types of massages techniques-
Remedial and sports massage
These massage types are usually to aid the recovery of injury related to accidents and sports activities.
Aromatherapy and Swedish Massage

Are there times or conditions which may not be suitable for massage?

You should not have massage after a certain stage in your pregnancy, or if you have a fever, have had a recent accident, dizzy or nauseated, severe bruises, sunburn or wounds relating injury. If you are still unsure please ask on of our trained therapists.

What happens during your massage session?

At the beginning of your massage an aromatic soothing and reviving hot towel will be placed over your back neck and shoulders immediately heating the area, penetrating deep in to the muscles and preparing for the massage technique of your choice. Your massage therapist will have considered the appropriate essential oils at consultation and will then work these into the skin during the massage, the blend used for a number of different massage techniques will break down tension stimulate and soothe the muscles or dependent on the oil selection invigorate and lift leaving you feeling energised and revived. Your massage treatment will end by going over different pressure points to alleviate all energies built up and to further relax the body and mind.

What happens after your massage session?

After your massage treatment, your therapist will leave you comfortably sitting up with a refreshment and adjusted lighting allowing you to come-to before recommencing your day.
